Looking Ahead in Asia: Hot New Hotel Openings. – Wednesday, 18th September 2013 at 4Hoteliers

Asia is still the apple of the travel industry’s eye; Over the past five years, Asia has seen the most growth in hotel openings, mostly in China.

The World Travel and Tourism Council predicts that of the 70 million new jobs that travel and tourism will boost by 2023, approximately 47 million will be in Asia.

To compliment the predicted new jobs coming to the area, hotels are primed to open some new flags in major Asian metropolitan cities. Here’s a look at some of the hottest hotel openings happening in Asia over the next few years:

The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu: The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu, located in the heart of the capital of Sichuan province, is the luxury hotel’s first flag in Southwest China. The hotel will have 353 rooms, including 55 suites, three restaurants including a Cantonese restaurant with eight private dining rooms, Flair – the sister bar/restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, and an all-day dining restaurant. The lobby lounge is where guests can enjoy high tea and there will also be an indoor swimming pool, as well as luxury fitness center and spa. Meeting spaces will include a Grand Ballroom, Junior Ballroom and seven additional meeting rooms, totaling 1,716 square meters of space.

The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin: The 277-room and 53 suite Ritz-Carlton Tianjin is located in the city’s central business district by the Haihe River. The hotel will have four restaurants and bars, including a Cantonese restaurant with 10 private dining rooms, each with its own wine cellar. There’s 1,625 square meters of conference and meeting space, an indoor swimming pool, and a fitness center and spa.

Park Hyatt Futian, Shenzhen: Expected to open in 2018, Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Futian will have 223 luxury rooms and suites, an array of restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness center, and intimate multi-functional event facilities. The hotel will be located on top of the 1,148-foot (350-meter) south tower, and will be adjacent to the 2,021-foot (616-meter) north tower of the Ping’An Financial Centre, which is expected to be the tallest building in Shenzhen.

Westin Singapore: The Westin’s first hotel in Singapore will open in November 2013. Compromising levels 32 to 46 of the brand new Asia Square Tower Two development, the hotel and its 305 guestrooms will will over overlook the Marina Bay in the heart of Singapore’s financial district. The Westin Singapore will also offer a range of dining and entertainment options, including five interactive kitchens and lunch and dinner buffets. The signature Heavenly Spa by Westin and WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio will be available to all guests, as well as an outdoor Infinity Pool.
